NONCLASSICAL IS LOOKING FOR UP TO THREE PASSIONATE AND ENTHUSIASTIC PEOPLE TO JOIN OUR BOARD OF TRUSTEES. THIS IS AN EXCITING AND IMPORTANT TIME IN NONCLASSICAL’S JOURNEY AS WE AIM TO BUILD RESILIENCE, GROW AND LOOK FOR NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE FUTURE.
Every charity has a board of trustees – a group of volunteers who ensure that the charity is effective in carrying out the purpose for which it was set up. Trustees have responsibility for overseeing the work of the charity, ensuring it is financially stable, well-run and fulfilling its charitable obligations, although the day to day running of it is delegated to the executive team. Further information can be found on the Charity Commission website, including an essential ‘What You Need To Know As A Trustee’ guidance pack: bit.ly/ trustees-guide.
We are looking for people who enjoy working as part of a supportive, rigorous team, who are passionate about new music and its inclusivity. We seek up to three people to complement the skills and experience of the current board of seven Trustees: Michael Noonan (Chair), Yung-Yee Chen, Jessica Cottis, Matthew Gill, Brian Inglis, John Richards and Nick Rampley.
We strongly recognise that our Board has some way to go to better represent the diversity of modern Britain and therefore are proactively seeking expressions of interest from:
Black, Asian and Ethnically Diverse people
People with a lived experience of disability
People from the LGBTQIA+ community
People between 16–35 years of age
We are also seeking expertise and/or networks in specific areas including:
Music industry e.g. record labels and publishing working in any genre of music
Businesses or properties in London or the wider UK
Underrepresented or underserved communities in London or the wider UK
We are keen to widen the pool of prospective board candidates and particularly encourage you to apply if you are from any of these backgrounds. You do not need to have been a Trustee before to express your interest.
