Trustee x 2
The musicians’ charity, Music for All, is looking to recruit two trustees to join our board at the beginning of the third quarter of 2021 to help drive our mission and effectiveness into the next decade. This posts are unremunerated, although reasonable out of pocket expenses may be paid.
With declining state-school music provision in the last five years and a drop in community support caused by increased competition for available there are a decreasing number of opportunities to access music making. Many find the cost of instruments and lessons well beyond their limited resources.
During the current Coronavirus pandemic, it is more important than ever that music-making of all kinds is fostered and encouraged. Music for all has been very successful in establishing its brand over the last ten years and, under the leadership of the newly appointed chair of trustees, Tony Followell, is looking to build on this success in the coming decade.
The two trustee positions are in:
Fundraising, helping the board to identify fundraising opportunities and sharpen the focus of Music for All’s developmental growth as well as take the lead in developing those opportunities, and
Diversity and inclusivity, to broaden the perspective of the board helping it provide access to music making, a sense of belonging and sustainable participation across all communities, including those which include ‘hard to reach’ and ‘at risk’ groups, and doing so in an authentic way. The diversity trustee will prioritise the building of a fully inclusive community, driving the values of a diverse board of trustees and encouraging involvement from the wider community.
Experience of working within the charity sector is desirable but full trustee training will be given.
