AV Technicians

Role Overview

We are delighted to be recruiting for AV Technicians to join our Hourly Rate team

You should have a good working knowledge of AV to ensure the highest quality of technical delivery throughout all performances, events and conferences. All conferences at Kings Place require an AV technician while concerts and performances will request one based on artistic vision and need.

Based on discussions with clients/artists and production notes, AV elements are set as per the event’s needs. This can include projection, TV screens, comfort monitors, videos sources, clickers and other common AV or presentation equipment. During the event, sources are monitored and switched as needed.

 

Key Duties

  • Setup and operation of in-house and hired AV equipment during events, including facilitating client/artist equipment and content
  • Return all areas to standard post show
  • Maintain and conform to venue policies and procedures
  • Work independently including during out of office hours
  • Ensure that all technical setups and installs follow the correct Health & Safety Codes of Practice
  • Routinely report equipment faults or issues to the relevant technical manager
  • As an AV technician, work with and assist other technical departments (Sound, Filming, Stage Management etc.)

 

Requirements

Essential

  • High computer literacy including Windows, Mac and mobile devices
  • Good knowledge of common presentation software such as PowerPoint and Keynote
  • Knowledge of common analogue and digital formats (HDMI, SDI) and their routing
  • Strong communication skills and positivity working with clients and artists to achieve their AV needs
  • Strong teamworking to ensure the safe and smooth running of events
  • Adaptability to make last minute adjustments to accommodate artist/client requests or the needs of other colleagues
  • Experience with live corporate events and conferences
  • Willingness to learn and develop technical knowledge

Contract: Hours are allocated as required, but not guaranteed.

Hourly rate: £17.43/hr + holiday and sick pay
