The musicians’ charity, Music for All, is looking to recruit new trustees to join
our board at the beginning of 2022 to help drive our mission and effectiveness
into the next decade. The posts are unremunerated, although reasonable out of
pocket expenses may be paid.
With declining state-school music provision in the last five years and a drop
in community support caused by increased competition for available there are
a decreasing number of opportunities to access music making. Many find the
cost of instruments and lessons well beyond their limited resources.
During the current Coronavirus pandemic, it is more important than ever that
music-making of all kinds is fostered and encouraged. Music for all has been
very successful in establishing its brand over the last ten years and, under the
leadership of the newly appointed chair of trustees, Tony Followell, is looking to
build on this success in the coming decade.
In particular we are looking for trustees with expertise in the following areas:
Fundraising, helping the board to identify fundraising opportunities and
sharpen the focus of Music for All’s developmental growth as well as take the
lead in developing those opportunities.
Diversity and inclusivity, to broaden the perspective of the board helping it
provide access to music making, a sense of belonging and sustainable
participation across all communities, including those which include ‘hard to
reach’ and ‘at risk’ groups, and doing so in an authentic way.
Music education, to ensure that the charity remains fully engaged with the
needs of young people, schools, educators and music services across the UK.
Experience of working within the charity sector is desirable but full trustee
training will be given.
We would prefer to receive applications by email: email@example.com as
the team is currently working from home but we can receive applications by
