Trinity Laban is looking to appoint new independent members to join the Board of Governors. The appointment is for a four-year term, which may be renewed for a second term with the agreement of the Board. The full Board of Governors normally meets four times a year, including a Governors’ Away Day. Governors will normally be expected to be members of one or more of the Board’s sub-Committees, each of which normally meet three or four times a year.

 

Members of the Board of Governors make an important contribution to the Conservatoire, engaging fully with the strategic decision-making processes. Prospective candidates will need:

 

  • Ability to think and act strategically and have excellent analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to be an ambassador for the Conservatoire.
  • Ability to work in effective teams with other members of Board and the executive team.
  • Personal expertise in an area relevant to the responsibilities of Board.

 

We are particularly interested in working with those individuals with leadership experience within, but not restricted to, finance, law, human resources, the performing arts industry (especially dance) or higher education/research.

 

Candidates should email a copy of their CV together with a supporting statement (no more than two pages) explaining how they consider their skills and experience fulfil the criteria of the role. The closing date for applications is 18 September 2025 and interviews of shortlisted candidates are likely to take place in mid-October.
