Camera Operators
Role Overview
We are delighted to be recruiting for Camera Operators to join our Hourly Rate team
You should have a good working knowledge of cameras and filming to ensure the highest quality of technical delivery throughout all performances, events and conferences. A selection of Kings Place concerts and conferences are filmed based on artist/client request, marketing needs or to build our artistic archive.
Our main halls use PTZ cameras that are centrally operated. During set up, preset shots are saved based on the stage layout and lighting states used. During the event, a live mix is created using the presets and any reactive shots that are needed.
In our secondary spaces cameras on tripods are used. While these tend to have one operator per camera, the workflow is much the same as in the halls.
Key Duties
- Setup and operation of in-house and hired camera equipment during events
- Return all areas to standard post show
- Maintain and conform to venue policies and procedures
- Work independently including during out of office hours
- Ensure that all technical setups and installs follow the correct Health & Safety Codes of Practice
- Routinely report equipment faults or issues to the relevant technical manager
- As a camera operator, work with and assist other technical departments (Sound, Audio Recording, Lighting, Stage Management etc.)
Requirements
Essential
- Experience operating PTZ cameras or similar gimbals with pan, tilt, zoom and focus features
- Familiarity with vision mixing essentials (e.g. Blackmagic ATEM, Tricaster, vMix or equivalents)
- Strong communication skills and positivity working with clients and artists to achieve their filming needs
- Strong teamworking to ensure the safe and smooth running of events
- Adaptability to make last minute adjustments due to artist or client request or the needs of other colleagues
- Experience with live corporate events and conferences and/or artistic events and performances
- Willingness to learn and develop technical knowledge
