BLiM is proud to share that CEO Charisse Beaumont moderated “The Business of Lyrics” panel at this year’s Ivors Academy Summit, a new flagship event dedicated to empowering songwriters and composers. The summit took place on 20 May at the BFI IMAX in Waterloo, London, as part of Ivors Week 2025.
The panel delved into how lyrics are used, licensed, and monetised on digital platforms, and explored what creators can do to safeguard their rights in an increasingly complex digital landscape. Charisse was joined by an esteemed panel of experts: James Duffett-Smith (Amazon Music), Rio Caraeff (Musixmatch), and Katherine Melling (KZMusic), for an insightful and forward-looking discussion on how to build a fairer future for lyricists.
We are honoured to have contributed to such a vital conversation, and to stand alongside others advocating for greater transparency, recognition, and protection for music creators.
