BLIM Connect returns in 2026, a four-month mentorship programme, built to uplift and accelerate early-career creatives from marginalised communities. The initiative provides tailored guidance, professional development, and invaluable industry insight, empowering participants to grow with confidence and take meaningful steps forward in their chosen creative fields.
BLIM champions the meaningful participation of people of colour across grassroots music education and creative activity, working in partnership with local Music Education Hubs. BLIM Connect strengthens early links between emerging talent and industry professionals, helping participants to become career-ready while exploring clear, sustainable pathways into the music industry.
The programme recognises that talent alone is not enough. Access, opportunity, and support are essential. Through BLIM Connect, mentees are encouraged to bring their full potential to the table, with vocational opportunities offered across the creative music ecosystem, including:
- Technical production
- Management
- Administration
- Performance
- Wider creative roles
At its heart, BLIM Connect exists to help early-career creatives grow, thrive, and step confidently into their futures.
What Participants Receive
Throughout the four-month experience, BLIM Connect participants will receive:
- Eight 1-to-1 mentoring sessions with experienced industry professionals
- Three in-person creative networking talks, offering direct access to expert insight
- Tailored career support designed to match individual goals and development needs
- Industry talks and networking opportunities, helping build knowledge and contacts
Bursary support to help ensure full participation throughout the programme
These elements work together to build practical skills, strengthen wellbeing, and open doors that too often remain closed to marginalised creatives.
