Classically Black Heads to Birmingham with Laura Mvula and the CBSO

We’re thrilled to announce that Classically Black is expanding! This October, we bring the spirit of our sold-out London festival to Birmingham’s iconic Symphony Hall, with an unforgettable evening of music led by the city’s own Laura Mvula.

Taking place on Friday 10 October 2025, this one-night-only performance marks a powerful moment for Black Lives in Music as we begin a week-long spotlight on underrepresented classical talent.

Joined by the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and conducted by Matthew Lynch, Laura Mvula returns to her hometown stage with her signature soul-stirring vocals and rich, genre-blending sound. Expect standout arrangements of fan favourites including Green Garden, Father, Father, and Sing to the Moon.

This is not just a concert—it’s a celebration of Black musical excellence, community, and legacy.
