What is the Professional Development Scheme?
If the panel recognises strong potential but feels you’re not quite ready for extra work yet, you may be invited to join our Professional Development Scheme. This programme supports emerging musicians in bridging the gap between training and professional work. Over several months, you’ll receive tailored opportunities such as:
- Side-by-side rehearsals with the orchestras (small ensemble setting)
- Mentorship from professional players
- Masterclass style workshops and feedback sessions
This scheme offers a valuable pathway for continued growth and preparation for future opportunities.
To date, the Professional Development Scheme has supported over 40 musicians, with three successfully progressing onto extra lists.
