Teaching Staff (Music) – Popular Music Drum Kit Teacher

Career stage: Senior

Contract: Permanent Part-Time Hourly Paid

Salary: £43.82- £51.43 per hour depending on experience

Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance is a forward-thinking world-class Higher Education Institution. At the leading edge of music and dance training, we provide the highest quality specialist education, reflecting the increasingly collaborative world of artistic practice and supporting professional artists’ lifelong career development.

The BA in Music Performance and Industry is a three-year undergraduate programme in Popular Music. As the post holder, you will work closely with a team of highly-skilled, forward-thinking professionals committed to fresh approaches to learning and teaching. We emphasise creativity as students develop their artistic voice, gaining skills in performance and production.

We are seeking to appoint an exceptional and versatile drum kit teacher specialising in popular music to engage and inspire undergraduate students on the BA Music Performance and Industry programme.

As a Drum Kit teacher, your role will involve tutoring Drum Kit students individually and occasionally in groups. You will carefully nurture their technique, group playing, and performance as they develop into professional artists. Students will learn skills across various popular music genres, requiring them to attain a high-level of technique, great feel, and timing, along with the ability to improvise and contribute significantly to creative, collaborative processes. You will enable students to be reflective and self-directed learners, inspiring them to appreciate the balance between technical proficiency and individual artistic expression. As a member of the team we are also interested in your expertise in other areas of teaching, such as Band Project leadership and community engagement.

Teaching Hours: negotiated yearly
