The Role

We are delighted to announce that we are recruiting for House Technicians to join the Kings Place Technical Team. By providing excellent customer service and technical delivery, House Technicians ensure all Kings Place events and performances are presented to the highest standards. The salary range reflects the fact we are open to candidates with different levels of knowledge and experience. The job description covers key duties. For candidates at the higher end of the salary bracket additional responsibilities will be:

  • To be a regular and visible presence backstage and front of house, liaising with all Technical staff to ensure an exceptional artist and client experience
  • Work with the Head of Technical and Technical Managers to create and maintain service standards and ensure these are implemented across the team
  • When required, act as KPMF point of contact for clients and artists during load in/outs, performances and conferences
  • Coordinate with contractors, equipment providers and on-site operational teams
  • Supervise Technicians during events and performances to ensure the highest possible standards of technical delivery and customer service
  • Conduct research into current and developing technologies
  • Lead technical staff induction and training
  • Assist with recruitment of technical staff
  • Planning with Production and Technical Departments to fulfil the requirements of all performances and events

 

The Person

We are looking for candidates with strong communication skills who enjoy interacting with clients and artists. In a busy environment you should have the ability to use your own initiative and work unsupervised when required.

Our ideal candidate will have expertise in multiple technical disciplines as well as artistic and corporate event experience. Successful candidates with this level of skill and experience will be offered the higher end of the salary bracket and given the additional responsibilities above.

We are also interested in candidates who are new to the industry with some event experience. A good base understanding in either Lighting, sound or AV and a willingness to learn how to operate different equipment and processes. Kings Place is committed to training and development and the key quality in potential candidates is a proactive attitude to problem solving, a positive approach and a willingness to learn. At this level the lower end of the salary bracket will be offered and the duties listed in the job description will encompass the scope of the role.
