Evaluating the Impact of Racial Inequalities in Live Music

BLiM is currently looking for a researcher to conduct a study on the potential cases of over-policing and racial profiling that affect Black and Asian music artists, event promoters, and venue owners.

Through an open tender process, we are seeking a partner with a strong track record in conducting similar studies related to Black and Asian communities and/or promoting racial equality within the UK music industry.

Systemic racial inequalities are undermining fairness and potential within the live music industry, which is essential for cultural expression and the economy. This research aims to comprehend the root causes of these disparities and propose viable solutions.

This research can potentially make a significant and ground-breaking contribution to our industry, and we are excited about the possibilities of this transformative journey.

If you would like to express interest or submit a proposal please contact us at research@blim.org.uk.
