BLiM have joined forces with Power Up, JukeJoint Foundation and ADVANCE Music to bring this vital discussion to SXSW 2024. This is your chance to have your say and to help us shape the March event.
About the Anti-Black Racism in Music Panel at SXSW 2024 panel
This panel brings together leaders from the UK, the U.S. and Canada to discuss how their changemaking initiatives tackle anti-Black racism in music.
POWER UP and Black Lives in Music support Black creators and execs in the UK, creating a fairer, more equitable music sector. Canada’s Black music business collective, ADVANCE unifies professionals across the Canadian industry. And JukeJoint Foundation empowers women of colour to restore balance in the U.S. music industry.
Speakers will discuss the nuanced experiences of Black creators and professionals, and ways in which they are powering up Black talent.
Hear from those working on the frontline of social justice to move the dial and ensure that companies are going beyond solidarity. And learn about international approaches to gain a better understanding of what active anti-racism and tackling anti-Black racism should look like and how you can be part of the change.
